On the subject of signs. Here is a really curious one. Along the beach front we have passed several
shark proof swimming enclosures protected by wire netting supported on posts. For some reason, these
arrangements have failed to prevent the incursion of sting rays. Surely it is not beyond the wit of
modern engineering to design a swimming enclosure that will keep out sting rays. Rather than put up
signs, why not simply fix the problem?
