Advertising hoardings on elaborate frames loom hugely along General Holmes Drive. It is the same
road but it keeps changing its name. General Homes Drive becomes "Joyce Drive" which becomes "Qantas
Drive" and then "Airport Drive". Heaven only knows why. Pathways come and go. Here suddenly an
elaborate walkway appears across the road, where formerly there was no access at all. Once again,
pedestrians are an afterthought - if a thought at all.
