WCS1633.jpg

Returning to the intersection we encounter a solid wall of vehicles (mostly trucks) coming from
Foreshore Road which leads from the Botany Bay foreshore freeway to Port Botany. Google Earth seems
to reveal no pedestrian walkways up at the freeway and certainly none where the freeway crosses under
the parallel north-south airport runways. We had resolved to follow the old Botany Road inland where
there was a greater likelihood of pedestrian support. To our astonishment, no access tunnel, pedestrian
bridge or surface crossing point is provided for pedestrians here. We are forced to jay walk across
this busy place as allowed by traffic light rotations. We feel like rabbits caught in the headlights.
