While nearly everything you can see in this image is part of The Gap Park there is a straight
section of clifftop walkway to the centre right (people are walking along it) which most people
think of as "The Gap". Strangely and tragically, people routinely choose this site as a suitable
place for suicide. Over the years, some thousands of people have hurled themselves onto the rocky
ledge below. Fortunately, many folk attempting suicide have been saved or talked around but the
tragic statistics speak for themselves. The sea is certainly calm today. Every picture I have seen
of this spot has always shown massive white breakers smashing against the rock.
