As we stroll away from the commuter wharf, we pass some small sea planes tied up at a floating
marina. Being a relatively protected inlet, Rose Bay has always been a suitable place from which
to operate such aircraft. Before the second world war, commercial sea plane journeys were a major
part of civil aviation - less so in these times. Nonetheless, during the day, I saw three take-offs.
