Rose Bay was once a sort of aerodrome for flying boats. It still is I suppose, given that small
planes still occasionally operate from the terminal up ahead. Before World War II however,
giant "Empire" class seaplanes conducted rich passengers to Europe in the lap of luxury.
After the war, Catalinas carried passengers to more local destinations.
