We walked out to this spot on the day we arrived and then again on the day we left.
This is just before a lock where the canal into Edam begins. There's a marina, a campground, and a café.
The body of water was formerly the Zuiderzee which was salt but now, enclosed, it is the IJsselmeer which is fresh water.
