This was an impressive new museum: el Museo del Bicentenario
It is right behind (and below) the Casa Rosado, the presidential palace where Evita geve her famous speech.
The city's waterfront has moved further and further East as new land was created in the shallow Rio de la Plata, but at one point it was right here.
Excavation has revealed this fort which once guarded the city. It has been enclosed and the various exhibits tell the history of the city and the country.
