We probably could have done a whole gallery of photos of New York City Christmas window displays.
Sometimes it seems that the people who put these things together spend their every waking moment on the prowl for miscellaneous "stuff"
which might possibly be magically displayed and catch the eye of some passer by.
For example, we saw one window festooned with a zillion large shiny chrome snowflakes hung up with fishing line
but on closer inspection they turned out to be the pointy gear discs that bicycle chains turn on!
This window was in an unassuming shop on a dull back street in the neighborhood.
I guess someone had salted away a stray, scarlet and white, baby grand piano to tickle our ivories and spread some holiday cheer.
And then they took the effort to sew up a green piano seat cover with silver sleigh bells attached!
