Knighton Reservoir, Shropshire.

Built by Thomas Telford for the Shropshire Union Canal, previously known as Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal ie a latter day M6. Finalised plans are stored in the county records dated Nov 1830 and The British Dam Society record the reservoir 'completed' by 1832. Originally planned at 50 acres or "4,000 locks of water" along with another 50 acres at Belvide. Belvide was increased in size in both 18** and **** to 180 acres because Knighton was deemed unfit to hold enough water as early as 1835.
