Hello In response To the question is Sarah Emmaline Smith the wife of Jesse Boyette? Yes he absolutely is her husband. As for Jesse Perry Boyette, when was his birth year? Jesse A. Boyett was born 1824 in NC. I’m having a hard time finding out who his parents are. But one genealogy site shows that his mother is Mary Ballard. I don’t know if that is her married name to another person or her maiden name, or if Jesse was born out of wedlock and took his mothers maiden name Boyett.

Hello Darlene. Thank you for posting. I am doing research on the Boyett Line.
My Great Grandmother was Maudie Irene Boyett from Perry County, Maumelle Township, Arkansas. She married Odas T. Montgomery from Petit Jean Mnt., Arkansas.
Their son is my Grandfather, Alton T. Montgomery.
Maudie Boyett was born March 24, 1909 - April 8, 1982.
Maudie and Odas Montgomery are buried together at Harmony Cemetery, along with other Boyett's in Perry County, Arkansas on Hwy 10.
Maudie's parents were Will F. Boyett (July 26, 1878 - April 3, 1851) and Rosa B. Tolley (Oct. 7, 1884 - Dec. 15, 1868). They are both buried at Harmony Cemetery.
Will Boyett's parents are James A. Boyett (June 26, 1856 - Feb. 24, 1928) and Nancy Faulkner (2nd wife of 3). She was born Jan., 1850 in Florida. Not sure when or where she died, but James is buried at Harmony. A census showed that they had once lived at Ouachita Township, Gravel Ridge, Bradley County, (south) Arkansas. Also showed that his father was born in North (or South) Carolina, and mother was born in Alabama. Their children are Lillie, William, Denver, Lizzie (Howard) and Lou Boyett.
James parents are Jesse (b. 1824, in N or S. Carolina) and Sarah Emaline (Smith) Boyett (b. Oct. 30 1830 - 1898). They also lived at Gravel Ridge, Ouachita Township, Bradley Co., AR. Warren is the County seat. If Sarah Emaline is the same person as the Emmeline Boyett buried at the Harmony Cemetery, then these dates would be accurate. I am not sure where Jesse Boyett is buried, but prob Harmony with an older tombstone, hard to read.

The Boyett Family probably moved up here to Perry County, Arkansas from South Arkansas around 1890-1900. This included Jesse, James A., and Will F. Boyett, and also Taylor Boyett and his wife and adult kids. There are many Boyett's who live in the area here, Maumelle Township, Harmony or Williams Junction, outside of Perryville. Some of them started spelling their name with an 'e' on the end. It just naturally happened probably around the 1970's. My cousin Dale Boyett (grandson of Taylor Boyett) tells us that the family came due to a male relative who was having an affair with a married woman and got her pregnant. Her husband was livid and shot at him, or the Boyett shot at her husband. But no one died thank goodness. However the Boyett Family left town. Dale also says that they originally came from Louisiana, but we have no proof of that.

My Boyett family line is from Chatham Boyett. He lived in Arkansas ( and we think he died there between 1850- 1857) His family is in the Nacogdoches , Texas 1860 Census . Looking into this family line of William F.Boyett and Jessie Boyett who also shows up in Arkansas census. Even in same county as Chatham - Ouachita county. Jessie Boyett would have been the same age range as Chatham's sons. Could Jessie's parents be the Jessie Perry Boyett in Arkansas? Is Jessie's wife Sarah Emaline Smith the same Emaline in the Arkansas census?
