My first record of a Langston/Boyett connection is recorded on 23 Nov 1743 in the Nansemond Co. Vestry Book for Precinct #10 and #12 as first freeholders. Jacob Langstone and Theophilus Jones for #10 and Joseph Rogers and Edward Boyt for #12 (Somerton Creek).
In 1747 families included William Boyte, Moses Boyte, John Boyte, Jacob & John Langston, George Garnagan (Jernigan), William Howel, Richard & Robert Parker, John Porter, John Wilson, John Hair, James Coplan, Lydia Ken, Isac Langston, Abraham Riddick, John Lawrence.
On 21 May 1750 the Vestry ordered Jacob Langston and Isaac Langston to return land to the church. Abraham Riddick & John Lawrance ordered by the Vestry to take charge of Precinct #11 (they originally had #12). Precinct #10 taken by Jacob Langston & Isaac Langston. Names included Theophilus, Jacob, and George Jones, Jacob & Isaac Langston, George Jarnagan, William Howell, Francis & Robert Parker. Precinct #12 taken by Henry Daughtry & Edward Howell. Other names listed are Edward & William Boyte.
By 1759 the Boyt, Jernigan, Parker, Theophilus Jones, Jacob Langston, William Howell, and James Copeland families are showing up in Wayne & Johnston Co NC. Along the Neuse River.
The Boyt family migration included Gates, Bertie, Hertford, Edgecomb, Martin, Johnston, Wayne (Dobbs), Sampson, and Duplin Counties of NC.
