1. Reddick Langston (1776 - 2 Dec 1848) was born in Dobbs/Wayne County, NC. Mother is Ann Riddick (1738 - ?) Father is reported to be John Langston (1738-1783), but no documents have been found to substantiate this claim. Reddick married Priscilla Thornhill (1780 - 25 Dec 1846) abt 1798 in SC and they lived in the Darlington, SC.

2. John Langston aka "Florida John" (1810-188?) was born in SC married Emilia Hudson (1812 - ?) in 1835. John moved to Liberty County, FL prior to the 1860 census.

3. Jonathan Baker Langston (17 Oct 1837 - 12 Sep 1900) was born in Darlington County, SC. JB moved with his father and brothers to Florida and married Celia A McMillian (20 Jul 1843 - 1 Jun 1925) around 1860. Moved to neighboring Wakulla County, FL before 1880.

4. Jacob Ervin Langston (3 Feb 1877 - 29 Apr 1950) married Mary Ida Strickland (24 Jun 1877 - 11 Jul 1923) in Wakulla County, FL on 31 Mar 1895.
5. Roscoe Willam Langston (19 Nov 1896 - 23 Nov 1873) married Mammie Louise Durrance (17 Sep 1900 - 15 Mar 1937) in Wakulla County, FL on 15 Feb 1915.

These are my maternal aunts and (Alpha) is my mother. I have known them all of my life. They were Jacob Irvin's Langston second family after his first wife Ida passed. Jacob was quite a bit older than my maternal grandmother Gertrude when they married. He and daughter Alpha, my mother made music, he played guitar and she sang. As far as I know, grandmother Gertrude was a Cain from Apalachicola, FL. She had a wry wit. Gertrude and Jacob raised their girls in the unique fishing community of Spring Creek, FL, where they had charter boats. Grand Daddy built the house literally over the bay where it caught a cooling breeze. The house was still standing though in ill repair in 2011. It abuts a large "boil", one of the largest in the world that erupts and churns the water several times a day. Uncle Leon (Jacob's brother) was a golf pro, stunt diver for the Tarzan movies filmed at Wakulla Springs, and stunt motorcycle driver for Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

My mother, Alpha married my father Lawrence Edward Hendricks who became Deputy Commissioner for the Social Security Administration and was an Air-force pilot. They had 5 children: Lawrence Edward (daughter Savannah Gull/ grandson Sebastian and granddaughter Emily), Geraldine Louise (son Dan/ grand daughters Lane & Merin, and daughter Oria Kunin, Gertrude Langston/ sons Jamal George, Nathan & Jacob Raffi Irvin Gazurian, Cecilia Sanders/ son Wyatt McGowan, and Wyatt Irvin Hendricks/ daughter Lauren & son Ashton. Interesting, the family again has South Carolina. Lawrence, Gertrude, Cecilia & Wyatt were born in Charleston where paternal grandmother Geraldine Sanders Hendricks was a Dean of the Lower School at Ashley Hall.
