One of my all time favourites on pbase. The composition is wonderful, of course, but what attracts me to photos like this is their enigmatic quality; the suggestion of meaning but no real indication of what that meaning might be. Images like this invite the viewer to see what they want. A bit like hollow icons, or totems: they stand for something, but what?
