No matter what the "Latest" technologies in audio reproduction have to offer, the open reel (reel to reel) format and the beautiful machines that supported it should have continued. A revitalization of decks like the Telefunken's, Crown's, Studer/Revox's Ampex etc, should take place. It's a shame that the digital format has destroyed such an art form. On a kin to the USA motion picture industry has all but abandoned 35mm film cameras, replacing it with 'video'!...discusting!
