Today was a great Father’s Day. I was able to talk mine into going for a country drive. We took the Z3 with the top down through a series of back roads neither of us travel much. We went real slow and talked as we looked at the countryside. The weather was PERFECT today so we had a really nice time. I had my camera with us, of course, so every once in a while we’d stop so I could shoot.
The reason I am choosing this photo out of the many great shots I got today is due to this conversation:
Me, “Dad, I’m going to jump out here and shoot.”
Dad, “Well the photo you want it right in front of you.”
Me, “What?”
Dad, “It’s right in front of you! That big tree!”
Me, “Yes, that’s why I’ve stopped, I want to shoot that tree with the farm in the background.”
Dad, “The heck with that farm, get the tree.”
Me as I start to aim with my 17-40mm lens, “Yes, Dad, I’ll get the tree too.”
Dad, “No just get the tree.”
Me, “Ok, Dad, I’m shooting the tree.”
Dad, “Well back up, you need to get the whole tree.”
Me, “It’s a wide angle lens, I don’t have to back up.”
Dad, “Yes you do…”
And on and on… LOL
And yes, I do have some photos of JUST the tree...
He’s a hoot!
