I had a great weekend, as I was able to attend a local SCA event. This was shot just after a very nasty and strong blew through the campsite, drenching us and knocking down a lot of tents and trees. After cleaning up from the storm we then began to cook dinner. Just as the venison racks were done I noticed orange light peaking through the trees on the horizon.

To hell with food! I ran to my tent, grabbed my gear and head up to the castle. I can only imagine what people must have thought watching me run the last 4 or 500 yards, alone in a this BIG field with my cloak billowing out behind me.

I just HAD to get to the castle to shoot in this light!!

See more photos from this event in my Aethelmearc War Practice Gallery.

What a BEAUTIFUL picture. It doen't even look real. More like an ethereal castle in the clouds, not just backlit by them. What a great selling point for the SCA.

Great image Ron! The sky is amazing! I like how the colour almost takes on the same shape as the buildings silhouette.
Beautiful!
