Carnegie Museum of Art

Today I shot myself in the reflection on the back of a chair displayed in the Museum of Art. Designed by Marc Newson and manufactured by Pod, the “Orgone Chair, 2000" was designed in 1993. It is made out of polished aluminum and paint. Don’t be surprised if I try this shot again at a later date…

I'm speechless...I find myself looking at all the details in the photo...amazing!!

Excellent. Yes, I think this is the sort of shot you try to shoot over and over again until you get it just the way you want it. I look forward to future incarnations of it. This one is appealingly freaky. - liza

This is so cool!

When I saw the thumbnail, I immediately thought of Salvador Dali. Just the curves of the chair - and the slight surrealism about it. Cool image!

Love the image you created. Maybe you'll have an exhibit at the museum with all of the photos that you take of it. It would be a nice perspective on how a person views art.

What a great opportunity to work in such a place and be able to take pictures there. You are taking full advantage of the situation, too.

Half close my eyes on the thumbnail and what do I see? A white cat with a black head turned looking backwards and pink ears.

Thank you all for the compliments. I believe the image was helped out by using a lense with "IS" or Image Stabilization. A nice feature some of the Canon lenses support. As you can see, it works!

LOVE this, Ron!! The reflected objects and their many, deeply saturated hues make a fascinating composition all their own, but the added element of your self portrait really puts this one over the top! Fabulous! :) And I'm positively INCREDULOUS that you produced such a tack-sharp, hand-held image at 1/6s! You must have nerves of steel - perhaps you missed your calling as a diamond cutter??! LOL

Very unique and creative image Ron. Also, exceptionally clear for being hand held at 1/8s !!!

Exceptional creative image!

What an amazing shot!! The art object is so strong in the thumbnail, I didn't initially see you ! And you did well to almost completely hide your camera!

Wow this is awesome. That reflection is worth it's weight in gold. Self portraits are hard, and creative self portraits harder yet, and you pulled this one off in spades. Excellent. -- angela :)
