We opted for this hike because the weather wasn't favorable to venture above treeline.. Snowy and a bit windy in Crawford Notch. Beautiful 10 mile hike up the Avalon trail to Field then over to Willey, back up Field then to Tom on the AZ trail.. Great practice for winter conditions! 3 winter 4000 footers and 3291 ft of elevation. #6, 7 and 8 on the winter 4000 footer list.
