Finally a forecast with reasonable wind and temps so I decided to visit the Franconia Ridge, haven't been up there in a while!! It was really icy going up Falling Waters but definitely wouldn't want to go down that way. Once I got to the ridge it was blue skies and beautiful! There was mostly ice with bare ground and some snow up top so I used an old pair of micro spikes (rock spikes) on the top, switched back to Hillsounds to go down and that worked ok. I brought full crampons, just short of needing them on the ascent but managed with the Hillsounds. Beautiful day!
