One of the most exciting hikes I've had on Adams and Madison! It was really windy up there so we started at Valley Way and when 6 hikers told us they had to quit on Madison because they were getting blown all over the place we weren't sure what would happen above treeline. Toughed it out, Madison was really breezy and yes, we got blown over but headed over to Adams anyway with a great partner. The avg wind speed that day was 58.9 mph . Stayed on Gulfside trail and approached the summit from the west to avoid the worst of the wind but when we got to the top it was crazy! Glad to have crampons on to hold me to the ground because it was a ride. Descended Airline and watched the skiers in King Ravine. Fantastic hike!
