The official brochure of the temple stipulates :
« This painting commemorates the 800-year anniversary of Kennin-ji’s founding, and a ceremony to mark its installation was given in april of 2002. It measures 11,4m by 15,7m (the size of 108 tatami mats) and is drawn with the finest quality ink on thick traditional Japanese paper. It was created in the gymnasium of an elementary school in Hokkaido and took the artist just under two years to complete. »


La brochure officielle du temple stipule : « cette peinture commémore le huit centième anniversaire de la fondation du Kennin-ji et une cérémonie pour commémorer son installation fut donnée en avril 2002. Elle mesure 11,4 mètres sur 15,7 mètres ce qui correspond à 108 tatami et fut réalisée avec les encres de la meilleure qualité sur un épais papier japonais traditionnel. Elle fut créée dans le gymnase d’une école de classes élémentaires dans le Hokkaido et demanda deux ans de travail à l’artiste. »
