A Locronan, le premier samedi de mai, un hêtre (arbre sacré selon les Celtes) est abattu dans la forêt voisine et transporté jusqu’au village sur une charrette tirée par un cheval...



The Celtic traditions became established for a long time in Brittany.

To Locronan, on first Saturday of May, a beech (a sacred tree according to the Celts traditions) is cut down in the nearby forest and then transported up to the village on a cart pulled by a horse...

So this is something we have in common, at least in Bavaria, where also a "Maibaum" is put up. We do that also for a girlfriend in her garden in front of here window to show her your love! :) V.
