une ria (mot galicien-portugais) est une baie formée par la partie inférieure de la vallée d'un fleuve côtier envahie, en partie ou en totalité, par la mer. Dans le Sud-Finistère l'on utilise ce terme de ria, alors que dans le nord du département, c'est le terme breton "Aber" qui dénomme ce type de rivière.

A ria ( Galician-Portuguese word) is a bay formed by the bottom of the valley of a coastal river invaded, partially or completely, by the sea. In the southern part of Finistère this is this word which is used, but in the north this is the breton's word "Aber".
