Je ne sais exactement ce qui se passa alors : je fus comme poussé dans une embarcation qui, tout aussitôt partit à la dérive sous la nuit étoilée...

Something else disturbed me : on one side of the magic theater, near the wall, it seemed to me to perceive gondolas put on waters lit from the bottom.
I do not know exactly what took place then : I was as pushed in a boat which, immediately, went adrift under the starry night...
