The sky was very clear. I took this photo of Jupiter hand held but braced on the car. Jupiter is bright so a "daytime" setting was used on my Canon T2i using the 300mm F4 L lens and 1.4 teleconverter. I'm surprised by how good the image is. The planet is really small on the original photo but the cloud bands jumped out at me so I cropped, etc using Paintshop Pro X4 software to enhance the image somewhat.
