We put out a bird feeder several months ago and for the last month we have seen a most colorful bird almost every day. Came to your site and learned it was a Painted Bunting. We live just north of San Antonio in Boerne, Texas. Thanks for having your photos available.

I saw one in my backyard in Alexander, south of Stephenville TX about 6 pm on the 27th of June 2012. It hasbeen about 20 years since I saw one last near Selden Texas, south of Stephenville. I am hoping maybe he will settle near here.

I saw one yesterday 06 08 11! absolutely beautiful ... had to know what it was , thanks for the informative site.
Hope to find more of them....not the first time we've seen them. Have been out here west of Morgan Mill since 2004, first siting was in 2005 when we saw several , then they left.

Im a 52 year e-line operator. I spend a lot of time out side observing all kinds of wild life. I saw a painted bunting for the first time around 1 aug 2008. It was in the brush country between Freer and San Didgo. Very colorfull bird. I was so exc ited I had to look it on the web. I'm glad I found it. I enjoy your web site. V/R, Henage
