Dee, Bachman’s Sparrow would be very unusual for the El Paso area. They are normally found in the piney woods of east Texas and they are pretty picky about habitat. That is also very interesting that they are eating hummingbird food, that isn’t something I have seen a sparrow do before. I am not sure what birds you have but would love to see a photo if you can get one.

do these birds sometimes have a little red under their chin ?
I have a little group of them in my yard in El Paso and they keep stealing my hummingbird food.
