This crazy cuckoo was the first “official” bird of our Cuba trip. By that I mean we saw some vultures, pelicans, pigeons… on our way from the airport to our first birding stop but this was the first bird we saw when we actually got out for birding. Pretty nice start huh? I thought so at least. It is a Great Lizard Cuckoo and it is a pretty impressive bird. The challenge with this one is that it loves to run around in the canopy and seems to be an absolute expert in hiding.
