If this isn’t a crazy looking bird, I don’t know what is. I have been seeing photos of hoopoes for years and it was this Eurasian Hoopoe was definitely a bird I was looking forward to seeing during our visit to Africa. We were definitely not disappointed. This was one of the first that we saw but there were many during the course of our visit. If that crazy huge crest isn’t enough to get you excited that long needle-like beak has to do something for you.
