This Yellow-breasted Chat used to be considered a warbler but is now in the family of blackbirds and orioles. Even so I think I will always think of this curious bird as a warbler. In fact over the past several days I was birding around Texas with a friend who has the goal of photographing 40 species of warblers this year. When we encountered this beauty he said it counted even though I pointed out that it technically wasn’t one any longer. In any case from the start we got I think he will have no problem reaching his goal of 40 even without this colorful species.
