I just wrapped up a five day trip to the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas with a very enthusiastic birder from Ohio. She is a retired school teacher and has a neurological condition that drastically limits her mobility. Despite her physical challenges we still managed to get her over 40 life birds. What a thrill it was to share with her the joy of experiencing all those beautiful birds.
One of the highlights of our time in the valley was this Ringed Kingfisher on the Rio Grande. We watched as it flew back and forth across the international border in beautiful morning light.
