Mycteria Americana

Every summer a large flock of Wood Storks comes to Brazoria NWR and this summer is no exception. This morning the waders put on quite a show with hundreds of birds filling Olney Pond in beautiful morning light. This young Wood Stork hunted right in from of us as if we weren’t even there. Despite the heat it was a great morning to be out.
