Chestnut-colored Woodpecker

Costa Rica

Celeus castaneus

This Chestnut-colored Woodpecker was another interesting bird from our October trip to Costa Rica last year. We spent a good amount of time watching it moving along the tree trunks in the jungle. I always am amazed by how much diversity there is in such a small country, I can’t wait to go back!
