My wife and I went up to Hood River, OR, where I was signed up for a group photoshoot to capture sunset and the Milky Way over Lavender Valley Farms. Unfortunately, smoke from the Bootleg Fire started arriving when we did, and made for prettier sunsets, but partly obscured the skies and the Milky Way. Such is photography! The Columbia River Gorge and its many attractions were beautiful, as always. All in all, it was an excellent trip.
Visit #2 in August was an end of summer adventure with our youngest grandson, but this time we went over to the Oregon coast for a few days. Again, the scenery was beautiful and a good time was had by all. We spent overnights in Grants Pass on both trips, and enjoyed our stays.
