As a kid in Vietnam during the war, the sound of the Huey made us kids look up to see the direction. Can't forget that sound even now

The 173rd Attack Helicopter Company "Robin Hoods" were our main mode of transportation into and back from operations in the field. Besides the stripes that marked their ships, they had a distinctive Robin Hood hat graphic on the noses of their helicopters. They were a outstanding unit and we relied on them to get us there safely and knew that they would be there when we needed them for extraction of our unit and frequently for our wounded. You can find more information about the Robin Hoods, including Medal of Honor awardee Gary Wetzel, here: http://www.vietnamexp.com/Robinhoods/RHMenu.htm

This is a Robinhood Slick from the 173rd AHC Robinhoods out of Lai Khe! The vertical green stripe between the two vertical white stripes is the identifier!
