A small group of Black Lions from Bravo Co., 3rd Platoon (Third Herd), got together in Seattle in 2007 to share companionship and memories. From left, the group includes Dale Carry-Minnesota, John McCoy-Oregon, Ron Moreno-Kentucky, Fred Hill-Washington, and Joe Hare-Kentucky. Unfortunately, John McCoy passed away in 2009.
Fred Hill, a member of the Third Herd, went on to a distinguished career in law enforcement as a US Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and Seattle Police Department Watch Commander. Fred arranged a police salute for this group of decorated Black Lions. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to join them. I really wish I had. The last time I had a police escort I was going 95 mph in a red Corvette.
They were brave soldiers and are great guys. I'm proud to have served with each and every one of them.
