I'll leave it to the experts to give this the proper name. I found this today in Bright Angel Park. Cross bridge, take right, go to end of trail and they are on the left. (lots)

A beautiful photo indeed. These are not Armillaria as was suggested. Note the rusty brown spore dusting on the annulus. They are probably [if large sized] Gymnopilus junonius (aka G. spectabilis), a bitter tasting poisonous mushroom also known as Big Laughing Jim [Gymn] because it can cause hallucinations.
