Truss Rail Bridge (upper) and Beam Logging Truck bridge, crossing a river.
The rail bridge is near the terminus of what used to be
the longest private rail road system in Canada.
Stretching 90 miles, from mid Vancouver Island (Vernon Camp) to the east coast Beaver Cove Camp, owned by Canadian Forest Products. Slowly the rail line shortened as logging trucks increasingly became the mode of transporting logs from the bush to the sort yard at Beaver Cove.
The beam bridge is one lane only and carries logging trucks and private vehicles.
