I, along with another bird photographer, were watching this Anna Hummingbird as it went from branch to branch and then flew straight up into the air and plummeted downward with great speed. With a few attempts I was able to capture this image as it flew upward. With the blue sky negative space and the single hummingbird, this image can be classified as a minimalist photograph. Even with 1/1000 of a second shutter speed, there is wing blur showing the force of the upward movement.
Definition: Minimalist photography is a form of photography that is distinguished by extreme, austere simplicity. It emphasizes spareness and focuses solely on the smallest number of objects in the composition process. Minimalist photographers usually focus solely on one particular subject, rather than an abundance of color, patterns and information.- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimalist_photography
