Flower using Nifty Fifty

Beacon Hill Park, Victoria BC

IMG-4180

A good portion of the Beacon Hill shots were done using the 50mm lens. Curious as to where and when I could use it as some photographers say that is the only lens to use out and about. Comments on this greatly appreciated.

An ID of this flower helps too.

A Canon (or other manufacturer's) lens is a lightweight, sharp, inexpensive great
lens for capturing images. Due to it's fast aperture - usually f1.8, it's also a good
low light lens. The 50mm is ideal for head and shoulder shots...portraits. On a full
frame camera you would use about an 85mm to achieve the same results.
Lots of info on the internet about the "nifty fifty". Have fun with the lens.
