Calypso orchid (Calypso bulbosa), also known as the Fairy Slipper or Venus's Slipper, or less commonly, and incorrectly it seems, as a Lady's Slipper or just Lady Slipper. Among the native BC taxa that correctly bear the common name Lady's Slipper are the Mountain and Yellow variations, but not the pink version pictured here - so the pic name must be seen as only a metaphor !
