The base photo showed red roses against a cedar fence. The photo was copied and pasted onto the original twice. One layer was made copper and the other black & white using the gradient map filters. The roses were selected on the original photo and copied and pasted three times. The top layer used the yellow, orange, violet, blue gradient filter with the blending mode set to colour burn. The second rose layer was filtered with the reverse copper gradient filter with the blending mode set to darken. The third rose was not filtered but the blending mode was set to lighten. The layer beneath the red rose was filtered with the copper gradient and the blending mode was set to linear burn. Next was a layer filtered with the black & white gradient and the blending mode was set to hard mix. The final layer was the base photo.
