Grouse Hen

Mid-Vancouver Island

I think this is either a Blue Grouse or a Spruce Grouse, whichever it sure was fun taking her photo!

Hi Carl,
This is what I call a hen Blue Grouse, some birders now call this bird a Sooty Grouse. Nevertheless you have a couple of super shots of them. Did she only have
one chick? Remember to keep your distance from these Grouse, they will attack your
face with their claws, especially when they are protecting their babies.
