The bears are out, a little skittish, but this one stayed around long enough for me to get a few shots.

North Island, coming home on the 25th betwen rain showers. Saw the bear, pulled off the road, bear started for the deep brush but stopped when I turned off the car. Waited for 1/2 hour and in that time the bear came back out in the open close enough that when it turned sideways I could not get it all in at 100mm. Yes, I stayed in the car as the bear was two bounds or less away. Nice and close for a portraite-

Wonderful closeup. Nice lights in the eye and each hair on the forehead and nose really shows individually. Great shot.
