Perhaps, for this photo, you might use Curves in PS to brighten it just a bit? Lovely light in the eyes and a sweet smile.

Hi Vanessa,
I'm not sure about photography, but in video we used three point lighting.
You may want to try a back light, diffused at a distance, on an angle pointed at her
head and shoulders, it helps define the shape. I like how you are trying different backgrounds. Look forward to your posts.

Hhmm, this image looks a little washed out on here compared to what I see in PS. Any suggestions as to why?
