Thanks Derrick. When I found this bird there were at least five photographers interested in it. None of them seemed to know what it was. I have been looking for it on the net and found it to be a common hybrid in many parts of the world. It seems the Greylag is the ancester of the domestic goose, even the pure white ones. Some have returned to the wild to confuse the novice birder by producing several variations of this hybrid. Thanks to those in the know, this has been an interesting and informative exercise. This goose is a hybrid between a domestic type Greylag Goose and a Canada Goose, they are a common hybrid on southern Vancouver Island and especially at Esquimalt Lagoon in Victoria where this breeding takes place each year. This goose has never been further north than the above locations where it is raised on bread and other handouts. This goose has never even heard of the arctic.
The Trumpeter Swan that has been posted by the same photographer is also a lagoon bread feeder and has been there for more than two years now, it is disabled.

Nice Goose shot, where did you take it?
I don't think I have ever seen a White Faced Goose, thanks for sharing.
Almost looks like a Canada x White Fronted, if it is possible.
