Manual barn

Holiday Lane, Duncan

Not a spectaluar shot (not happy about the branch in the foreground) but my first relative success on manual settings - handheld at 1/320! I was standing in the light, shot through some trees where it was darker and got the barn in the light. Maybe this is a simple shot but don't pop my bubble, I feel like I've accomplished something here;-) I wonder if I can do it again?!

Thanks Ed. I find many of my shots are all about lines. I guess that's what attracted me to the shot. BTW I figured out the "no big deal" on the "hand-held at 1/320" I had it all backwards. When I can successfully hand hold a shot at 1/8 I'll let everyone know. Heather S

This is a beautiful shot. I like the trees forming a frame for the barn. The sharpness and contrasts are excellent. The vertical timbers and boards on the barn echo the trees with the snow and bare ground adding a horizontal element. The branch in the foreground leads the eye to the main focal point, the barn. Very nice capture. - Ed Maxfield
