Astroturf is correct, the rest isn't - she really is diving for the ball. I'll tell you the setup another day :)

I think this is fabulous and that you definitely think 'out of the box'. I think this was shot vertical with her jumping straight up in the air slightly curing her body. I think that is artificial turf as a backdrop, rather than the footing. The light on the feet have me stumped, so I'd guess dodge and burn tools in Photoshop. I bow to the master and thank you for the thinking challenge on my part!
