Very, very good street image. Cartier Bresson would be proud of this image. (Don't want to repeat myself but...) did you try it in B&W..? =) It would be a classic! /Jonas

I like the off center composition, too. It adds interest and positive tension. Also, the reflection of the leg in the lower left corner is a nice touch.

Thanks JV - I don't know why, but I like this un-centered. Maybe it's because this man's life isn't centered (or maybe it is.... )
Thanks Fly, and who is the anonymous poster with the information on Moslems - thanks for that too! Penny Street

A little funny, a little sad. I like a framing, although it might be a tad better if the window was centered up. - J.V.

Note that he had walked around to the other side of his cart, and that he laid a rug on the ground before taking off his shoes. My guess is that he is a Moslem, and that this was one of the five times each day that they stop for a formal prayer. Anyway, it is not only a great capture, it tells a nice story. Well done.

Excellent, Penny.

Sneaky self portrait. This is a powerful picture Penny. Some of us would see this store and pray that our wife has been shopping but to this man it is trivial. This shows a man with obvious passion in his prayer as the rest of the world is on hold while he does it. He will not be disturbed by passers by (the legs in on the bottom left) or by photographers (you) or by buses(?) and will even go as far as to remove his shoes. All this from a man that pushes his belongings around in a shopping cart. Excellent photography Penny. -COAmature

If he was a Hindu I would say because he was praying and shoes are not allowed in a place of worship. Nice one Penny - Debi

BTW you are in good company here if are posting rubbish :D
ctfchallenge10-Jun-2008 18:13
Any thoughts on why he has removed his shoes? - A620er

No more rubbish talk from me either Penny! This must have such a story behind it as it's both funny and sad at the same time. Good shot Penny. CJ

thanks for the comments. And I'm not getting into any more discussions with Rod about rubbish - especially when I have no idea what CAT is referring to..(?). This just kind of happened - I was standing there across the street trying to think of what I could make of power with the Victoria's Secret building (after walking around for about 1/2 hour and finding nothing else) and then this guy just knelt down in front of it and started praying. Weird(?) - well kind of amazing, actually.
